Carrying your baby

In the leaflet carry with attention’ you can see some beautiful pictures about how to carry your child in an effective way. Before lifting a baby it’s always good to talk to her. Let her know your presence before touching. As you can see on the pictures there is always a hand under her bottom. It’s a golden rule, when you are lifting her, or carrying her, try to keep a hand under her bottom. And keep her close to your body. Some babies love to be carried around when lying on your shoulder. Use one hand to support your baby’s neck and head. Use the other hand to support the bottom. Be very careful when carrying a new born this way. Make sure that her head does not move around too much, either side to side or front to back.

Support under babies bottom…

When you want to put down your baby, use one hand to support her bottom and the other hand to support her head, neck and back. Slip the hand from under her bottom and put it gently and slowly on her tummy; leave it for a while, you may feel a change in her body. First take away the hand under her neck and then slowly your other hand.

Where you read her you can read him too.
